We collect as little as possible. This page explains what that means in practice.

1. Who we are

Research Republic (the "Site") is an educational publication. We do not sell products, operate accounts, or process payments. Replace this paragraph with the legal name and address of the Site operator before publishing.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. The Site has no sign-up, checkout or comment system. If you contact us by email we will hold your message and address for as long as needed to respond.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites our hosting provider records standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the Site running. If we use privacy-respecting analytics, it is configured to aggregate visits without building individual profiles and without using cross-site tracking cookies.

Cookies. The Site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Essential cookies may be set by the hosting platform for security purposes only.

3. How we use information

• To operate, secure and maintain the Site.
• To understand, in aggregate, which articles are read so we can improve them.
• To respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build marketing profiles.

4. Third-party services

The Site is served by a hosting provider and may load web fonts from a third-party font service. These providers may process technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the Site. Each operates under its own privacy policy. We do not embed social media widgets, advertising networks or third-party tracking scripts.

5. Data retention

Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a limited period and then deleted. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle your request.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 7. Children

The Site is intended for adult readers and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. International visitors

The Site may be hosted and accessed from locations around the world. By using the Site you understand that technical data may be processed in a country other than your own.

The Site is served over HTTPS. We rely on our hosting provider's security practices and keep the amount of personal data held to a minimum, which is the most effective protection of all.
